Our People
Guests enjoy City Beach not just because of our fun activities and great venue, but also (and perhaps most importantly) due to the incredible team of Event Planners, Hosts, Facilitators, and Catering Crew who make our magic happen.
Event Sales Manager
Maia's love of event planning began when she started working in the hospitality industry over 10 years ago. It didn't take long for her to discover the joys of creating memorable events for her guests.
Prior to joining City Beach, Maia planned all types of special events for Pyramid Alehouse in Berkeley, and managed banquets for some of the Bay Area's premiere restaurants. Her attention to detail and ability to understand each client's individual needs strengthen our flexible, customizable City Beach approach. Maia is an invaluable asset to the team. When clients call, they know they are getting the best advice on how to plan the perfect event.
Event Planner
Ruth comes to us from South Carolina by way of San Diego. She hails from Myrtle Beach SC where she began in the hospitality industry at the ripe old age of fourteen. Seventeen years later she still loves helping people enjoy themselves.
In San Diego she had the pleasure of managing one of the cities largest night clubs and event centers. Ruth's favorite events she has planned are a 16th birthday party that was aired on MTV, numerous art and fashion shows and a wedding reception for over 400 guests. She enjoys the process of planning an event from the first phone call to the thank you at the end. Working with Ruth and City Beach you know you are working with not only a professional team but friends as well.
Operations Manager
World traveled and home schooled, Gregg has an interesting and diverse background. From reenacting Saturday Night Live skits as a child in the kitchen with his family to performing on stage at the famed Dean Lesher Regional Center for the Arts as an adult, performance has always been a predominant theme in his life. A student of music from the age of six, Gregg continues to pursue his passion for music through study, performance and teaching. Gregg spent many years training exotic animals and educating the public in shows all over the world in an effort to promote environmental awareness and conservation.
Gregg earned a B.S in Criminology from Cal State Northridge, but attributes his dynamic skill set to life experience. His work with animals and understanding of training and operant conditioning philosophies, combined with many years of experience as an event manager for MCA Concerts, have helped him to flourish in the City Beach culture.
At City Beach, Gregg designs our themed programs, trains other facilitators, and works with clients to customize team spirit and team bonding events. If you are looking to raise your group's morale and create new bonds, Gregg and City Beach can make it happen.
